Chris Walker
 Origin
I was born to wonderful Christian parents (Jimmie & Peggy) in High Point, NC in December of 1961. I lived there until my college years. And I will be forever grateful for the godly influence of my parents. To this day, there is no one I credit more for my spiritual formation than my dad, and my chief Christian counselor is still my mom.
 Family Life
I am blessed to have a beautiful wife, Christine Snare of Huntingdon, PA, who is lovely both inside and out. We were married March 5th 1988 in her home in Pennsylvania. God has blessed us with four daughters—two born in Georgia, Rachel (12), Katie (8)—and two born here in Virginia, FaithAnne (4), and Hannah (soon to be 1). My girls are the joy of my life. Just ask me and I will tell you all about them.
 Educational Experiences
I attended school in the Randolph County School system in Randolph County, NC. I graduated from Trinity High School in Trinity, NC. After graduation, I attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. (Yes, I was one Jerry’s Kids—Jerry Falwell that is). While at Liberty, I majored in missions and traveled with a ministry team that went all over the United States and to 14 different foreign countries. For a long time, I thought God wanted me on the mission field. And He did—just not overseas. I now consider myself a missionary to Loudoun County and the Washington, DC area. Because of the many cultures that are here in the DC area, if you lead someone to Jesus here, there is no telling where that seed of the gospel will eventually travel.

After Liberty, I earned my Master’s Degree at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. My wife and I left Memphis in December of 1990. And after a short sojourn in my hometown of High Point, God led us to pastor for 7 years at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church in Nicholls, GA. We answered the call to Hamilton in August of 1998.
 Things I Can't Live Without
My wife and daughters, authentic Lexington Style Bar-B-Q, fried fish, a good spy novel, and a couple of trips to the beach each year.
 Hope To Someday
Finish my PhD, begin a mentoring ministry to young pastors, and lead HBC to begin a ministry for pastors of small rural churches. This ministry would provide pastors and their families with a place to vacation and have their spiritual batteries charged when they cannot afford to take a traditional vacation. I would also like to start a ministry for pastors who have been wounded in the ministry.
If I Were In Charge Of Heaven
Tough question! I think I would probably mess it up. So other than being sure they serve Bar-B-Q and Fried Flounder at the marriage supper, I will just mind my own business.
 I Love To
Spend time with my family, read, read, and read some more, study for my Sunday sermons, listen to the HBC choir (my favorite singing group), cook out, play golf with the guys from church, and occasionally try my hand at the fishing hole.
 Where You Will Find Me
In my office studying for Sunday, in the kitchen driving my wife crazy by taking charge of the cooking, taking my daughters out for lunch dates, reading the latest Tom Clancy or Jack Higgins novel, working in my yard wishing I was somewhere else—anywhere else.
